Calling all men ages 60 and over: if you are single and ready to mingle, Orland Township’s Senior Speed Dating is looking for you. Orland Township’s Senior Speed Dating event is just around the corner, taking place at 94 West Restaurant in Orland Park at 6 p.m. on Thursday, April 27. Registration is closed for women, but there are still a number of spots available for men. The night entails various mini “dates” in which participants have several minutes to get to know the person on the other side of the table. When the music plays, people rotate to the next table where they have an allotted amount of time to get to know someone new.
After the “dates” there will be socializing and refreshments. Maybe some folks will find their true love or maybe just meet new friends, regardless, it will be a night many matchmakers won’t want to miss. Admission to the event is a suggested $10 dollar donation to benefit the Orland Township Food Pantry. For more information on the event call the Orland Township office at 708-403-4222.
“This has been a really fun event to sponsor,” said Supervisor Paul O’Grady. “Interacting with new people gets a little bit harder as you get older, but companionship is important at any age.” “Everybody really has a good time getting to meet and talk to other people in the area that they may have not met at other Orland Township functions, so it’s a real nice way for people to get to know one another.”
