Orland Township Holiday 2017 Program

Orland Township Holiday 2017 Program

Each winter brings more and more challenges to Orland Township residents, but that didn’t stop folks from coming to the Township last year to drop off donations for the annual holiday program. Braving those “windy city” below-zero temperatures and icy roads, local community residents once again came through baring gifts: stuffed animals, dolls, board games, coloring books, scarves, hats, turkeys, hams, and more. As the shelves in the food pantry began to overflow and the activity center pilled up with gifts, it was apparent that we live in an area full of caring individuals who want to help those in need.

“The generous donations we received from people are incredibly heartwarming,” said Supervisor Paul O’Grady. “All the generosity from the individuals and organizations in our community led to the Holiday 2016 Program being Orland Township’s most successful holiday program to date.”

The Orland Township Holiday 2016 Program helped over 300 local families last holiday season, and this year Orland Township hopes to do the same.

“The Holiday 2017 Program aims to make this holiday season easier for our local families in need,” said O’Grady. “The holiday season is meant to be bright. We want to make it as bright as we can for as many families as we can, everyone’s kindness will help us achieve that goal.”
