(Orland Township, IL – Nov. 20, 2019) — After the music stopped, the lights came on and the votes were in, one couple took home the mirror ball trophy and was crowned 2019 Dancing with the Senior Stars of Orland Township champions, according to the office of Orland Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.
Five couples, all 55 years of age or better spent the last few months learning and perfecting their dance moves to compete in the eighth annual Dancing with the Senior Stars of Orland Township.
Each couple performed two dances, complete with costume changes. Guests were also treated to performances by students from Dance Images in Tinley Park and also by their instructors from Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Orland Park.
Total scores were determined by a combination of three components:
- Scores from the celebrity judges: Bobby and Julia Mrowiec, owners Arthur Murray Dance Studio in Orland Park and Diane King, owner of Dance Images in Tinley Park.
- Scores from each table of guests.
- Total amount of money in each couple’s ballot box, which was donated to the Orland Township Scholarship Foundation.
At the end of the evening, the couple with the highest total score, John and Pam Beatrice, took home the Orland Township Mirror Ball Trophies.
“I want to congratulate all the couples on their hard work and their outstanding performances,” said Supervisor O’Grady. “And I want to thank all the guests who attended, encouraged our contestants and donated to the Orland Scholarship Foundation – we appreciate your generosity.”
Dancing with the Senior Stars of Orland Township was held on Thursday, November 14 at Georgios Banquets in Orland Hills.
