Residents who have not yet received their seasonal flu shot can stop by Orland Township, get their shot, a hot dog and be on their way without even getting out of their car, according to the office of Township Supervisor Paul O’Grady.
The Township’s popular and convenient Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic will be held on Saturday, September 29, from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. on the Township grounds, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park.
The following flu shots will be available:
Fluzone High-Dose – For adults 65 years of age and older. The Township will bill Medicare for those Individuals with Traditional Medicare Part B (must show card). Individuals with a Medicare Advantage Plan or a Retiree Plan may be able to submit the vaccine receipt to their insurance company for reimbursement, depending on their individual plan. Fluzone High Dose is $40.
Flublok Quadrivalent – For adults 18 years of age and older. Flubok is 100 percent egg-free, highly purified, preservative free and contains three times more antigens than the traditional flu vaccine. Flubok Quadrivalent is $40.
Fluarix Quadrivalent – For individuals 3 years of age and older. Fluarix protects against four different flu viruses and is preservative free. Fluarix Quadrivalent is $25.
Only cash or credit card payments will be accepted. Please note: Medicaid Title 19 card holders (18 years of age and younger) can only receive a flu vaccine at the Township’s monthly clinics. Please visit orlandtownship.org for dates.
Flu shots will be given at the Drive-Thru Flu Shot Clinic on a first come, first served basis. Those receiving a shot are asked to wear a short sleeve shirt.
“I urge everyone who still needs their flu shot to take advantage of our convenient drive-thru clinic,” said Supervisor O’Grady. “While running your weekend errands, swing by the Township, get your flu shot and a hot dog for lunch – you don’t even need to get out of your car.”
For those who don’t make it to the Drive-Thru Flu Clinic, flu shots will still be available on Mondays and Wednesdays during October, from 3 to 6 p.m. at the Township office, 14807 S. Ravinia Ave., Orland Park and at the following locations:
