DESCRIPTION:This program will educate attendees on the importance of having a personal safety plan. Doing so can reduce the fear and anxiety that some people experience by increasing awareness and planning for the “what ifs.” \nFear and anxiety can be debilitating; awareness can be liberating. Topics will include discussion on situational awareness\, maintaining control when feeling vulnerable\, reaction vs. response when a threat is present\, and the safety trap we experience when we are in our comfort zones. \nThis program is designed to include a presentation\, interactive discussions\, and time for Q&A. \nInstructor Bio: Lindsey Daehnke is the Founder of Strictly Self Defense and offers Trauma Informed Self Defense Workshops throughout Chicagoland. \nShe has been training in the martial arts for more than 26 years. She is a Third Degree Blackbelt in Tang Soo Do and a First Degree Blackbelt in Hapkido. Additionally\, Lindsey is trained as a Medical Advocate for Survivors of Sexual Assault.
